What is going on with these people. seems like another one may have been a naughty boy. I saw a video by Gio talking about the guy going by the name of Scuba Chef. I then watched a video of his ex accusing him of clearing off leaving her with bills and she also said that her sister had told her that she had seen him touching the daughter in an inappropriate way. She is basically accusing him of being a child molester.

Not sure I believe it though because I just saw another video of hers where she says he offered to pay for the rent on their house for a while.

All they live for is "Likes" on their crazy postings

None are better than Filipina Pea. Of course she wants the likes and subscribes, And she's making very good money doing it. But she also puts huge effort into editing content and making it fun and watchable. While at the same time offering her experience and suggestions for expats coming here or thinking about it, or already here. She's been doing her first US tour lately and I've loved it. Even though it's mostly the armpit of the US (southern east coast). I mean gas station BBQ is not Texas BBQ! But she's having a good time and meeting people and learning things.

Only a suggestion but get your arse over here/live and stop watching crap on the net, the news is bad enough, stop picking and live it. Then complain.

OMO.

Cheers, Steve.

Only and observation, nothing more. Regarding your point about getting my arse over there and living it - I am still nearly 6 years shy of retirement age so my State Pension, an old private pension and my work place pension will not pay out for a few years yet. I do receive a meagre Military Pension which kicked in when I reached 60. I do not intend to become one of the many people who have moved out there with limited resources or an idea to start a business or maybe open a You Tube channel in the hope of earning a few extra pounds until my pension kicks in. Lots of these people simply run out of money before being able to draw their pension and end up returning to their own country.

I estimate that the total of my various pensions will be enough to retire there when they kick in so for now it is strictly visits to the Philippines to find out if it is a suitable retirement place for me.

I hope this answers your questions and you can see my reasoning.

My apologies Cherry, seems I jumped the gun and I fully understand now your situation, same for me, back and forward since 2011 dozens of times and finally retired here with the onset of covid but had the house here from 2017 ready for the move.

Yes it's easy to run out of money no matter what country, the old saying "live within your means".

Cheers, Steve.

@bigpearl, There's always pole dancing.

bigpearl

Thailand for pole dancing is wicked, not seen that in PH. but maybe we need to get out more.

LOL, takes me back many years but I remember Ben half naked up on the bar dancing with the sexy ladies around the pole but that's another story and what's made in Thailand stays there, Ben would be horrified if he knew I mentioned this.

Just as well he is not interested in expat sites.

Cheers, Steve.

Doubt it Bob but who knows?

I retired here on my savings/assets over 4 years ago, 64 now and all the funds I paid in taxes for 45 years is means tested and apparently because I am too wealthy I will never see a government pension, go figure. Aside  the measly pension they pay to those living in another country is crap, like AU 20/22K per year, very glad I worked hard and never relied on a government pension.

I'm in the process of drawing from my superannuation fund, pension mode and I will receive more than twice what tax payers will receive in Australia, wise choices and investments through my so far life.

You do need cash reserves to move here if gainfully unemployed or as Cherry said you will end up on the bones of your ass and returning to your home country.

OMO.

Cheers, Steve.

Retirement will be exactly that for me. No work except maybe some voluntary work and definitely no You Tube Channel. Golf, tennis, travelling around the country and other nearby countries and maybe purchasing a mountain bike to stay fit will do for me.
