My name is Lynn, from Canada living in Indonesia for 4 years, investor visa. I open a western style restaurant, objective to bring the money out of hotels so will stay on the island. I am not here to compete with locals but to contribute. We are quite unique.

I am here to give a shout out for Belitung, a little bit of paradise just an hour from Jakarata. Beautiful white sannd beaches without the mayhem of Bali. Clean, no traffic, friendly people, no.polution. Only downside in my mind is transportation, can be a bit challenging. If you are coming message me and I will help. Looking forward to more expats visiting.

Don't worry, we know what you mean.

Having visited that very nice island, I have to agree with your assessment.

For first time travellers, the aeroplane isn't crashing as it lands, it's a short runway so wheels down is a bit rough.
