Managing mailboxes or PO boxes in Cambodia

Cheryl

Hello everyone,

Something as simple as receiving mail can become a whole new experience when you settle in Cambodia as an expat. Mailing management can indeed be different from what you are used to. In order to help other expats and soon-to-be expats, we invite you to share your insights.

How do you receive mail in Cambodia? Do you have a traditional mailbox, a PO Box, or another system?

How was it to set it up and what are the formalities?

Is the postal service reliable and secure?

How do you handle missed deliveries or forwarding your mail?

Do you have any tips you would like to share to newcomers and fellow expats?

Share your insights and experience.

Thank you for your contribution.

Hello Cheryl.

First: no postal deliveries in Cambodia.

Second: no mailboxes in Cambodia.

The way to receive mail is to let the sender clearly indicate your phone number plus the address of the post office.

The post office will then call you and you can get there to search for your mail in a big box.

That's it.

Cheers

You can get a mailbox in Siem Reap, I have one. It all depends on availability. Rarely do we get mail actually in the box it usually needs to be signed for or too large so we pick it up from the post office agent
