SEF residence permit renewal meetings: travel verification.

Hey from the sunny Algarve!

I have a question specifically for expats here in Portugal that have already had their first or second RENEWAL meeting with SEF.  How did they verify that you meet the required yearly time spent in Portugal?   Did you have to show your passports for verification?--or what sort of verification did you need?  We are on the fence about buying a house, and heard through youtube videos (forgive me-lol) that a deed or a lease serves as verification.  Getting mixed messages.  Anyone here with experience have a little insight?  Muito obrigado!

I've a similar question in here, I've checked docs but could not find any clear information about how do they measure days spent in Portugal.
