Living in Netherlands, working for a UK company

Thank you, that's really helpful. How feasible is it that one would be given a permit to stay in that scenario? I'm totally financially self-sufficient, but do I /would I need another reason to be moving to the Netherlands, other than to be near friends?Dan        -@danba27

Hi again.

As a UK citizen you have no right to live or work anywhere in the EU, you would need an appropriate residency permit; this link will take you to the Dutch Government department (IND) website that list all the possible permits.  The closest one I can see is the Residence Permit self-employed; give it a go and see how you fit in.

The link I've given has a further link to their Service and Contact section; it includes an FAQ section, plus phone numbers/e-mail address for you to contact them and ask specific questions.

I hope this helps.

Quite right; Common Travel Area allows a Brit passport holder to live and work in Ireland.
