Notifying Service du Cadastre and Trésorerie of new address

It is my understanding that after I buy a new home in France I'll have to notify the local Service du Cadastre and local Trésorerie of my new address. Anybody know how this is done?

Do not worry, the notary takes care of it when signing the act of buying the house.  On the other hand, it is at the town hall that you must go to register your new address.

Thanks! I figured the notaire would take care of it but I have a book by David Hampshire that says I have to do it.

You can always drop by and check.  But when the notary authenticates a deed of sale of a house, he notifies the cadastre and the competent administrative services of the transfer of property from one person to another.
