My friends are in Sweden working with carta di sorgiono and also apply for Sweden work permit easily but you keep saying no no,not possible.

The Carta di soggiorno has been replaced by the Permesso di soggiorno UE per lunghi soggiornanti. Not to be confused with the regular Permesso di soggiorno which is valid up to five years. The Permesso UE is permanent permanent residence for people who have been in Italy for more than five consecutive years, generally last stop before citizenship. It is valid for travel and work outside of Italy in EU countries. The regular one is not. The UE one is hard to get and also requires passing of an Italian language test.
