If you stay in Manama souq area you will find lot of  restaurants nearby, approximately 50BD for food, telephone and other expenses. For transportation , you can use public buses or taxi (bit on costlier side).

I would like to ask a few more questions. I am really worried, having lost my job a few months back I want to be completely prepared before I go to a totally new country to look for a job.

How is the job there? Is it easy to get a job, I am well in my 50's now, and qualify for a mid career level job. I hope the job market is not like KSA.
