asking for a date

Hi,
I am living in Sweden but I am originally from another country.
I am interested in a girl who is working at ICA. I mean I have seen her at ICA.
My question is: is it proper to ask her for a date in her work place?( because there is no other choice to meet him outside of her work place.)

please anyone from Sweden answer my question.
