Yet another newbie/Single mum:-)

Post new topic

Katushka-3

Hi,

Im originally from Slovakia, currently living in Birmingham in UK (and have been for past 13 years!).

And now Im looking to relocate to Munchen with my kids as a single mum.

I speak Slovak (obviously), fluent English and my German is total rubbish at this moment.

In UK I worked in finance field on contracts as Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable Analyst and so on. I hope to do the same in Germany....but the Deutsch

I am expecting it to be very tough once I relocate, I dont expect wonders, but I hope that eventually the time will come when we settle and things will get easier. I'd presume that will be as soon as I find a job maybe?

I'd like to hear from other families or single mums in Munchen, and I do not discriminate singles/couples either, any one really who is up to a chat.

I have a German friend on another site who is a single mother. I'm sure it'll be okay once you get used to the new area. :)

Katushka,

Welcome to the Expat.com; change is always difficult and of course scary because of the unknown. From reading your introduction you have two things going for you that stand out.
1) You seem to have great job experience.
2) You are a mom who needs to provide for your children which will make you tenacious in seeking employment.

I recommend  the Internet for searching companies that you might be interested in working for in Munchen. You are the right path seeking others here who might give you information you seek; make your destiny!

Hi, good luck with the relocation. Sounds like a new adventure is about to begin! I'm from the UK but have recently been living in Berlin. My German is practically non-existent, but there appears to be many opportunities in Berlin (not sure about Munchen) if you have a good grasp of the english language. Which you appear to have. Take care, Simon.
