Good choice. You're a little ahead of me for going to stay but I have driven through a couple of times. Good highways, easy travel, big volcanos. Weather seemed to be just right too. Not too hot or cold, and humidity it's bad most of the year.
I would like to learn about your adventure as it unfolds. In particular - how do you get your money down there without triggering fees and penalties from the USA? I plan to rent then buy...

Hello from Colima:

I am enjoying living here the people are really nice and yes the temperature and the volanos and the highways are great.   We are being paid in Canadian funds so we are just withdrawling down here and yes we get charges everytime we withdrawl.  Some of the others have set up an account at the Scotia Bank and others at HSBC and they said that the rate for asking them to transfer money into there account is much lower than it is the way that we are doing it.  If there is something else you would like to know just asked.  Thanks for answering my add..Jean
