I'm considering applying for a job in Riyadh, but I am worryed about what it would be like living there, from a social point of view. I know that things like the theatre and cinemas are banned, so I was wondering what there was to do as an expat. I'm female as well, so I don't know if that will make things even more difficult :)

I think you will feel better and very comfortable there without any problems. I wish you a best stay and useful journey to the K.S.A.
Do not be afraid for being a female, you will rather feel more securer than your own country.

Have a nice journey.

Hiya :)

Things can be quite dull if you don't know you're way around, but if you develop a good friend network, you'll be alright. There are parties at embassies; shopping and eating out are favourite pass-times; and just going to your *female* friends' houses. If you do end up moving here, let me know -- it would be fun to meet up :)
