VFS - can't register/open account

Good afternoon

Well, my latest brick wall is again on the VFS site. If I'm not mistaken, in order to book the appointment you first have to open an account with VFS. I fill in all the details - but the last button to click to register simply refuses to become active. I keep getting the green tick from Cloudflare but can't proceed. Does anyone have any idea what on earth I can do?

@northernlites I had the same experience when I tried to open my account with Miami VFS. I provided my email address, created a password, and checked the "I am not a robot" box. The message was "You have not provided the info required for all the fields" or something to that effect. I had provided all info required. I tried several times and got the same message each time. Then I got locked out. Asked my IT colleague what I was doing wrong. He tried on my behalf and it didn't work. He also tried unsuccessfully to open an account in his name. The next day I successfully opened an account, providing the same info. Keep trying. Funny things happen with VFS at the end of a month and at the beginning of a new month. Just keep trying. If you email the VFS helpline, they will likely just tell you to try another browser. It is highly unlikely that is why you cannot create an account.

Try this:

Restart your modem by turning it off for 30 seconds and then turning it back on. This could assign a new IP address to your device, which might be just the refresh your session needs. Clear all your browser's cache and cookies, then wait at least 2 hours before trying again.

I would keep trying to create the account because the start of a month is when you have the best chance of booking the VFS appointment. I finally created the account after several failed attempts. I didn't do anything different when I succeeded than I did the previous times when I didn't succeed. But then I also had problems when I tried to book the appointment. Apparently the VFS IT people hadn't finished constructing the appointment page the first 3 times I made it that far. You should see a calendar for the month, showing available dates as green and unavailable dates as black. You then click on a "green block" and see the times available. But the first two times I tried to book my appointment, there were no green and black blocks on the calendar. There was just a gray calendar with the date numbers. So if you get to the appointment page and only see "gray," you won't be able to do anything. You'll just have to try again later when the page is finished. I think VFS has a lot of issues at the beginning of a new month that prevents applicants from creating accounts and booking appointments.

@JohnnyPT Thank you. Will certainly try that as well. Earlier today I did actually manage to get the 'register' button to light up but when I clicked on it I got that message 'you have encountered an error, come back in 2 hours etc etc.' 2 hrs later the button was inactive again.

I have been having difficulties in booking appointment for October. The VFS site keeps locking my account every 24hours. once unlocked,  it’s another struggle entirely.

I had to wait nearly 2 months for my appointment.  However tips and tricks: Schedule your appt at the soonest date you can - then go back into the portal every evening or so, and look for cancellations.  That is what I did and I was able to bump my appt up by 10 days.  1f600.svg I just had my appt last week on the 25/Sept - I forgot the money order but the guy was super nice we- finished up and I went across the street to the Post Office.




Another common mistake, you must bring a money order for the Visa App fee, which is the only form of payment accepted for this part of the fees. Depending on your type of Visa you may want to verify the application fee.
