Submitting the Anlage EER and documents for citizenship by descent

Hi All,

Me and my father are applying for German citizenship through his German mother, my nan.

There are some questions I have that I really hope someone could help me with;

  1. I have all the documentation required including birth certificates and passports ect but how do I submit the copies, do they need to be scanned or will good quality photos work? Also how are the documents verified and how do you go begin this process?
  2. Where do you send the Anlage EER to? Is it to be printed and sent by post to the embassy?

Any help would be great becuase I am finding the process very unclear.

@reesmiller69 Such procedural questions are best answered by the embassy.

But, as I know German officialdom, postal mail (best registered) is probably required.

All of this seems to be explained on the following site. There is a summary on the English version page but as it clearly says, all details and the process is done only in German. One has to have a B1 level of German regardless, so they expect you to be able to navigate the site:
