Hi Armand

I'm quite happy with the public transport in Lyon. The TCL website is very good too, and can be used in English.

I mostly use the bus, as I live in Oullins - no Velo'v or Metro here (Metro B is extending to here though)! Buses are very regular, especially now summer holidays have finished!

I've never had any safety issues on the public transport in Lyon.

I usually buy a carnet of 10 1 hour tickets at the tabac, for about 14.4 euro (red tickets). A carnet of 10 1 hour student tickets is about 12.2 euro (yellow tickets), but you must be under 28, and a student, of course! The tickets are valid for 1 hour on the bus/metro/tram network. The same ticket bought from the bus driver is 2 euro.

I regularly see ticket inspectors!

A few things I've found out by experience - you must wave to the bus driver if you want him/her to stop and pick you up! Sometimes, when you're getting off, the doors don't open automatically and you have to press the door button a few times, and sometimes you have to call out to the driver to open it anyway!

Hope this is helpful in some way :)
