Good evening all.

My plans pointed towards Varna, I have just been informed that Borgas has less crime than Varna and better weather.

Any thoughts on this?

I prefer Varna (maybe cause I live in Varna!) :) Burgas is like a mini Varna.  Must say the mayor has done alot of refurbishment in Burgas though.

I prefer Burgas to Varna personally. However, it does all come down to personal taste. Personally whilst Yambol centre is OK the surrounding area does nothing for me. We live near Kazanlak and Stara Zagora, about 2 hours inland from Burgas and love it. We have mountains, lakes, spa resorts etc but its an easy drive to the coast. And once the new motorway is complete in a year or two will be even quicker and easier.

we live between Stara Zagora & Plovdiv which is a beautiful area, in a pretty little village near Chirpan town, were we go for everything we need,  we have loved being here, & love alot of things about BG, but as my  daughter has to sell up after 5yrs because of divorce sadly we have to go back to UK as soon as we sell our houses, theres very little work here & its easier for retired people or if you have enough income to live on without working, altho some find work & manage. Hello,
if i had to choose i would live in Bourgas because it is more quiet and peaceful but the whole thing about industry, payment and stuff to do at all is in Varna. That is probably the only city on the coast that has been increasing development and population in the last 10 years. I grew up in Yambol, lived there for 18 years and i can tell you the city might be looking ok but that`s it. Lots of the people are very low educated with a low manner and there are lots of gypsy there. And if you live in a house somewhere in Yambol you better have a good security because it is most likely to get a visit. It is not as scary as it sounds but in conclusion every person that i know from Yambol is trying to leave and find a better place. Stara Zagora is a nice place to live. Bigger than Yambol and snmaller than Bourgas. Calm and peaceful compared to the crazy live in Sofia that i`m up to now.

Good luck!

Veliko Tarnovo is the old capitol of Bulgaria. look it up on the internet. Better weather here than the coast.
