Find accommodation

To have more chances of finding accommodation according to your criteria more rapidly, it is best to register with a real estate agency. In fact, these have a better knowledge of the local rental market and will be able to advise you and assist you with related procedures. Note, however, that you will have to pay agency fees which are generally equal to a month's rent. You can also find international agencies which can provide you with an English translation of your lease contract.

If you are not yet in the country, you can still view housing offers on general and specialized websites. This should give you a better idea of the types of housing units that are available there and on rent prices. Flat-sharing is also quite widespread in Bulgaria.

Important:

Before signing the lease document, make sure that all the housing unit's features are mentioned in the contract, especially if the building is old. In some cases, gas bills can be quite expensive in winter according to the accommodation's surface area. Other fees may also apply. Thus, it is best to inquire on these with the owner.
