New members of the Argentina forum, introduce yourselves here - 2026

Hi all,

Newbie on the Argentina forum? Don't know how to start?

This thread is for you ;)

We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your expat story if you are already living in the country,
or to tell us more on your expat projects in Argentina if you are planning to move there.

It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.

Welcome on board!

Hi everyone!

I’m Maria Jose, originally from Peru, and my family and I are currently preparing for a big move to Salta, Argentina. I’ll be moving with my husband and our baby, so this will be a completely new adventure for all of us!

We’re still in the planning and moving stage, so I joined the forum hoping to learn more about life in Salta, get recommendations, and connect with people who have gone through a similar experience.

I work remotely in EdTech, and outside of work I love good food, traveling, discovering new places, and meeting people from different backgrounds.

I’d especially love to connect with other expats and families in Salta, whether it’s to exchange tips, grab a coffee, plan something with the kids, or simply make new friends as we settle in.

Looking forward to being part of the community! 😊

Hi Maria Jose,

Welcome to Expat.com and the Argentina forum!

Thank you for introducing yourself. Moving to Salta with your husband and baby sounds like an exciting new chapter for your family.

I hope you’ll connect with other expats and families in Salta who can share their experiences and useful tips about settling in, daily life and things to do in the area.

Feel free to browse the forum and start new topics with any questions you may have while preparing for your move.

Wishing you and your family all the best with your relocation to Salta!

My is Tomás Banks. I’m from the United States and have lived in Buenos Aires most of my life, having come here for the first time when I was 20. I’m now retired and find living here a challenge economically right now, but still a great place to be. I’ve been in expat forums before, but don’t remember being in this one. Has it been around very long?

We have been around for a while  😊 : https://www.expat.com/en/about.html

Expat.com is a global platform covering destinations all over the world, so we may be less well known specifically in Argentina than some local forums or communities. But the Argentina forum has been part of our international expat community for many years.

Should you have any questions, feel free to ask.

All the best
