Moving to Playa Del Carmen and buying property

Hello Everyone and thank you for allowing me to join your group. I am 59 years old and a retired Firefighter for the last 10 years. I am also a 100% disabled Vet. We have been thinking about moving to Mexico on a permanent bases for some time now. After a recent trip to Playa del Carmen it renewed our desire to move. I tried to attain Citizenship through my Father who was born in Mexico but unfortunately he became a Citizen of the United States prior to 1998 and lost his Citizenship in Mexico. I would like to purchase a home in Playa in the restricted zone. Are there any other options? Thanks again! ✌🏾
