Is the voltage for plug in outlets for laptop recharge, hair dryers, rollers etc. the same as in Canada/US? (120V)?

Yes, Heather, it's pretty much like the U.S. with one precaution . grounding/surge protecting plugs. I have them on every outlet I use, just to be safe, Electric storms can come up and be intense, The power is never out for long, but that's another issue.  Older buildings don't always have grounded plugs.

In hotels, you are probably fine but I bring a grounding plug just in case.

Voltage in Mexico is slightly different in the tolerances.
127V + or - 10% equal to 114V to 140V while Canada1US is 120V + or - 5% equal 114V to 126V
If you have sensitive equipment you should be using an AVR (Automatic voltage regulator).
Voltage regulators are available for motor driven devices or electronic devises.
