Telemedicine in Mexico

Hello everyone,

Maybe you have already tried telemedicine in Mexico or you are very tempted to take the leap. With the pandemic and the necessity to avoid hospitals, telemedicine seems to be the new normal.
We would like to know your opinion about this recent phenomenon or to have your feedback if you already gave it a try when you needed to see a doctor.

If you have already consulted a doctor remotely from Mexico, what was your impression?

If not, are you willing to try it? Why?

In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of this practice in Mexico?

What type of doctor have you been able to talk to? What platform did you use to make this medical appointment? How easy was it to fix an appointment? What about payment?

How did you get your prescription and was it valid at the pharmacy?

So Diksa,

I strongly do not recommend this pretty much anywhere. The exception would be if you have a long-standing face-to-face relationship with the practitioner.

in Mexico, this would be a very bad idea if you don't speak Spanish or, know the practitioner and speak at least some medical jargon.

I often communicate with my dentist via Whatsapp. I met him via a friend * the Mexican way to find people. I SPEAK SPANISH AND FLUENT MEDICALISE. He can also speak English.

Another friend died because he was in a small town at a party and passed out. His friends assumed he was a little drunk, they searched for a local doctor and communicated with him . They are natives. He said it sounded like my friend was drunk. His friends thought it was more so they took him to a hospital a half-hour away, where he died of a brain hemorrhage.

As for drugs I dont do them even over the counter. I do know that some of the pharmacy techs do more and know more than the techs I have seen before.

The main point is know the practitioner and know what you are talking about. And Speak the languages, your life could depend on it.
