health care in Mexico

GuestPoster283

I have tried to do research on Mexican health insurance, and as I understand, there are  changes coming. That includes the most popular type of insurances offered to Ex-pats. Some ex-pats are being denied. Does anyone have any experience with this?
.
Also, I tried to research preexisting conditions, because they make you ineligible in for the insurance. But the only page I found was in Spanish.

One more! I read about the insurance deductibles. I know that you pay a decidable  that is determined by the  diagnosis, but they'e so high.

Thanks for the response ahead of time.

Katie,
you might want to check under the services tab at the top of the page.

Hi Katie,

I assume you are referring to INSABE, IMSS, & / or Seguro Popular.

All are public health plans, which are different from private health insurance.

Currently, and in general, many public health hospitals in Mexico are experiencing shortages of medications & doctor specialists.

Limitations based on pre-existing conditions also exist.

Thanks,
Melanie

INSABI replaced the Seguro Popular. It is a disaster. No coverage for 3rd. tier medical diagnosis and treatments and the patient pays now, before Seguro Popular paid, no operating rules or proceedures to follow and it is greatly  underfunded.

Thanks! I just looked at an article in a paper that gave a glimpse into what's going on. An like you said, it's a mess.
