New to riyadh- relocation research

Hi everyone,

I am preparing for the move and would like advice on the below;

- best areas to rent 2 bedroom near King fahad road/ olaya

(Budget not to exeed 100K per year); do recommend to look for compound?

- recommendation on transport I'm considering leasing a car (budget not to exceed 40K per year)

What car range can get? Any good vendors/companies to engage or look up?

- any recommendation on things to start looking up before making the move and flying in? I.e which best bank to go with, Telecom providers etc.

I have been living in Australia most of my life so this is definitely out of my comfort zone and would appreciate any support. Much appreciated.

Thanks

Ibrahim

@Ibrahim Dana Hello and welcome !

Till members get back to you, I would suggest that you read the articles under the Living in Riyadh guide for expats. You might find some useful infos specially in the Accommodation section.

All the best

I lived in that area.  To keep it simple, I took a serviced apartment in one of the hotels.  The rental options nearby are not that well developed.  The compounds are too expensive re: your budget and / or a bit further away.  To give you a bit of perspective, if your office is there then you want to live AS nearby as possible..........maybe even literally on the service road behind King Fahd.........unless you want to be frustrated by traffic day in and day out.

@XTang good point. Anywhere you recommend around there?

@Bhavna thank you
