Work visa + CPR timeline

Andrewreevepara89

Hello, my prospective employer is currently applying for my work visa.

The last update stated it has been sent to Department of Immigration for issuance; how long is this likely to take?

Will CPR be issued at the same time?

I require official correspondence in order to be able to cancel contracts in the UK for phone/TV subscriptions, etc. When would you expect to receive this?

@logicalindian thank you. The employer is organising this so I do not have access to the website to check the status.

Given it has been sent to Department of Immigration for issuance does this mean it has been approved?

logicalindian

Cannot say, it's approved only when the status says "valid employment visa"

@logicalindian thank you for your assistance.

I received my work visa today. The contract is 2 years.

The work visa is valid for a period of 30 days, I am told we apply for renewal to 2 years when we are there. Is this the norm in your experience?

logicalindian

Yes
