Visiting from September 15-20.

We will be visiting Lisbon in September.  I don't know if this is an appropriate forum to ask questions.  We are interested in meeting locals and eating at local restaurants.  We will be spending a day in Fatima.  I would like to know any recommendations for local restaurants people have.  We will be staying at the Lumen Hotel near Parque Eduardo VII.

We are an older couple (69 & 71).  My partner recently got out of the hospital and is not able to walk long distances.  We understand Lisbon requires walking!  We will do our best with using transportation to get around and walking short distances.

Hi @dcikon2,

Near your hotel, the nearby Metro stations (Picoas and Saldanha) have step-free elevator access.

Unlike historic districts such as Alfama or Bairro Alto—which are steep,  the neighborhood around your hotel is relatively flat and very comfortable for walking short distances.

Here are a few options in central areas that you, as a tourist, simply must visit. These places are well served by the metro. There are plenty more good restaurants, but they may be in areas that are more difficult to get to.  Search for other restaurants in Lisbon and check out the reviews on websites such as: TheFork, TripAdvisor, Zomato, ...

Timeout Market Lisboa

It’s well worth a visit. It’s not a restaurant, but a venue offering a variety of dining experiences all under one roof.
