Where should I buy for boating?

I want to buy a house by a river or lake for boating.

Any recommendations?.

What about the danube, are there houses that have yards right on the river bank?. Anyone here have a boat?.

You'll easily find a cheapish house on the Danube - and when the regular floods arise you'll find out why it was a "bargain"... 😂

You'd also be wise to talk to insurance companies about any prospective purchases!

There's also the Black Sea and quite a few reservoirs.

While it's nice to be waterside, it might be worthwhile considering a smaller boat with trailer and/or the latest inflatable canoes/SUPs. Being, say, 5-15km from water would not be massively inconvenient (unless you want to boat every day) and would massively increase your options (and reduce your cost).
