Job change during L card processing period

I applied for the Belgium Long term residence permit (L card) and received A 16bis in October 2025.


My question concerns a job change during the L card processing period.


My new job starts late April so it would be a few weeks after my 5 month period is complete and they have not applied for a single permit considering I should get my L card by then.


I meet the 5-year residence requirement and have maintained continuous legal stay and my current contract is also ongoing and i serve my notice period until the end of April.


Has anyone changed employers o signed a new contract while their L card application was still pending?


I would appreciate hearing from anyone with direct experience in a similar situation.

The information my Lawyer gave me was that its not necessary as they check what the status was during the time of application.

What if your current card expires while waiting for L card

You must apply for renewal before 45 days, you will get B card and Latter L
