No one here knows how far you can ride on a bike!!

May be I missed the important detail of 'keeping commute time to less than half hour one way. (keeping in mind traffic etc)'

Google Maps has a useful function where you can plan routes by car, bike and walking. I think I would try and use public transport, Antwerp road traffic in the rush hour is horrendous.

I would say ~4km max, My office is 3.7km from home i have an electric bike and it takes around 20-25mins to reach office. Better to check with google map.
