Yes, you can change from a marriage visa (Non-Immigrant O based on being married to a Thai spouse) to a retirement visa (Non-Immigrant O based on retirement) without waiting for your current visa to expire. This change can typically be done from within Thailand, as long as you meet the requirements for a retirement visa. But it is complex and waiting the last 30 days would be easier.

To be eligible for a retirement visa, you must be at least 50 years old and meet one of the following financial criteria:

Have a minimum of 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account for at least two months prior to the application.

Receive a monthly income of at least 65,000 THB.

Combine income and savings to total 800,000 THB.

You should also be able to provide documents proving your residency in Thailand, such as a rental agreement or utility bills.

In practice, most immigration offices allow you to apply for the change during the last 30 days of your current visaโ€™s validity. However, some offices may accept the application earlier. Itโ€™s best to check with your local immigration office about their specific policies.
