Here's a website that calculates the Cost of Living in countries, eg the Philippines, and also in various cities in countries. Maybe these averages given appear reasonably accurate?

I believe the forum has a rule against posting links, which are to other forums, blogs and such. Thats why links can get checked before they decide if show or not.

(Or perhaps I mixed up with rule in other forum.)

Thats why I write essays here instead of in my blog

Just joking I dont have any blog.

((But perhaps I will start one about having business in Phils after more have happened in mine (waiting for the 6th permit before we can realty start) to show sceptics its possible

Telling obstacles and how we solved them.))

I do feel much safer/secure/confident here in our fully paid for 3rd class backwater province on our simple 500m2 resort style home (without that many bells & whistles) compared to where I used to live i.e : In a 'tiny' 1st world fully equipped/furnished high floor apartment that came with all the bells & whistles which to me was way over priced & the resultant cost of living/stress factors that went with it.

I write essays here instead of in my blog Just joking I dont have any blog. ((But perhaps I will start one about having business in Phils after more have happened in mine (waiting for the 6th permit before we can realty start) to show sceptics its possible Telling obstacles and how we solved them.)) - @coach53

Good, please do start a blog Coach, especially regarding starting and running a business in the Phils.

As it happens my wife and I run a mildly profitable duck egg farm (for salted eggs and balut) and more information, in particular regards the legal paperwork side of business, could indeed be handy.

So far I answer in forum when someone wonder something I know, and have told about some crazynesses

in business related contacts with officials.

Does your ducks eat expensive feed "imported" from elsewhere? Same as chickens?

I dont know about ducks, but I know most of CHICKEN FEED are "imported" to Palawan, which make it expensive and by that make chicken related businesses get bad results and few try it which make Palawan is short of EGGS too , "importing" most of such too, I got told from MANILA. More natural would be the OPPOSITE direction

One in related business told 80 % came from elsewhere (before covid). He even started own egg production because he had problem to get eggs to his main business.

It wasnt among the business ideas I had thought of, but I have started thinking a bit about perhaps starting a chicken feed manufactory at Palawan to fill some of that gap IF it can be done for competitable prices. If so I thought of a rather small manufactory perhaps 8 employees, plus make deals with raw material producers of most ingridiences.

(Not researched yet, I have been and still some occupied with starting and exbanding the first business and finnishing researching two other. One refining further step of the first and the other is a small health product manufactory.)

So I dont know yet if such small manufactory can compeete against huge manufactories elsewherel

I dont have money enough to do all wanted/needed there myself

Are you interested in geting involved

in the chicken feed business?

I mean if research will show its interesting profitable.

I have access to a reliable and hard worker team of around 30 at south Palawan, but dont have jobs enough to them (yet) and big part is kind of seasonal anyway.

If you tell more about your land and situation, I have perhaps some more ideas suiting you.

In which municipaly is it located? (So I know if the team in south can if needed come and do startup and some biger later steps, which they are skilled at and know how to do, which is uncommon knowledge in Phils. (I have added a knowledge part

But your people would handle all other.

Sadly the Philippines does import most of its Chicken feed from Vietnam, China and South Korea...why they still need to so is anyone's guess.

In fact the Philippines is now officially the largest importer of Chicken feed [see link below] & a similar situation for the importation of fertilizers

Thanks gents for your interest in our newly established family duck egg business on Palawan.

Have to say, we have basically got the production side of things pretty well nailed down. For example, we don't purchase commercial feeds. We have extensive natural wet-lands and so can mostly mostly utilize organic farm-grown feeds such as kangkong and natural live feeds.

Our current flock of a thousand ducks are well spoilt with a completely natural environment and feeds etc, and our girls will normally lay one egg each per day completely naturally.

Here's our family and the farm ..

Even better for this business idea then by its even much longer transports than from Manila.

(He, who told me, just knew 80 % came from Manila, so it can be from the import there. He knew by being CUSTOMER of eggs, who started own egg production to get sure access of good quality eggs, which made he became customer of chicken feed.)
