Sob Stories

During the pandemic with so much boredom, I've become a You Tube Junkie. Recently I've watch a number of videos (well many) under the title Thailand Bound.

It's aired by a Brit and he reads the sob stories emails sent to him from Thailand suckers, well mostly suckers, once in a while a feel good story.

So get a few cold ones, maybe with some snacks and search You Tube for Thailand Bound.

My preference for cold ones is Smirnoff Mule.

There are a ton of YouTube videos about Filipinas who scam foreigners out of their money too.

Do we have to quarantine for 14 days if we fly there from the Philippines?

Arent there enough about Phils ?   :)
I agree, Smirnoff Mule.
How do you say that in Thai?
Same here, I watched more YouTube mostly about retiring in the Philippines and social security pension. Of course, I learned more cocktail mixes too.
I met a couple of couples who could not decide to retire in the Philippines for fear of security for the husbands. Can't blame 'em.
Cheers!
Sorry but its quite unlike what our poor back water province can provide... (We may lack some essentials like our poor internet service/insufficient water pressure) but we have lots of 'freeedddooom'
In infact I just had another one of our expat family get-together pot luck parties...flood/laser lights display were on but too bad it started raining heavily so we stuck in doors for some great conversations & karaoke singing...we did have lots of local Gin/Beer (however no vodka or dancing...maybe next time)
Nothing like catching up with my like minded buddies.
Keep the faith guys.
I'll drink to that.

Cheers, Steve.

Actually. . . .There is a big difference. . . . .Most of the Philippine sob stories begin on Philippine Cupid or platforms like that . . . .Sight unseen. . . .no in face personal contact or interaction. Endless messaging for long periods of time. Lots of time with money sent and expectations never filled.

Now in Thailand, the sob stories begin after the "lovelorn pigeon" arrives in Thailand with high expectations, seeking to find a love one or whatever floats his boat. He gets to see the "product" in person, hundreds of them at a time. He gets to sample many of the "products" of his choice.

Now the big difference between You Tube "sob stories" Philippines vs. Thailand is many of the Philippine suckers don't want to ID themselves by telling their tales of woe.

Now on "Thailand Bound" they are reiterating the stories from the "sucker" which leaves the "sucker" to be anonymous and much more open. Thus there is much more material available.

Now reverting back to my experiences living in Vegas. When asking a friend how he did at the tables. if he said "I broke even", that means he lost. If he was taken to the cleaners his response would be "I don't want to talk about it"

Well. People, who send much money even without ever met,  have a big risk to get fooled anywhere...

Thailand isnt nice for foreigners settling there, specialy if want to start business, Thailand seem to want foreigners ONLY to be tourists. Even worse now than back when I researched to mve there, but I skiped Thailand and chosed Phils instead.   One thing I found much better in Thailand though is religion havent screwed up citizens thinking as much.

Quotes I came across about money:
Too many people spend money they earned..to buy things they don't want...to impress people that they don't like....A wise person should have money in their head, but not in their heart. ...Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants.

A ciouple had a business, which made some  work for my business back wen I did distributions.  I work hard in STARTUPS of my businesses or prrojects, but in between - when I have made others work  :)   functioning   - I relax e  g go canoeing.   They started a few years after me, grew theirs fast too, BUT while I after some years didnt want to exband anymore by it would be more regular work hours per month than I wamted, they went on working akmot allways even after they had paid a posh house, one new Mercedes each andd a very expensive yacht -. which they had time to use ONE day per YEAR,    while I had a CHEAP small sailboat, which  I had time to use almost as much as I wanted...  :)

Kids to poor parents, who spend much qualitty time with them are often happy
while kids to rich parents, who spend time with money instead of with the kids, are often sad (althouh they try hide it and to reduce it by drugs and/or by shoping mre and more things they have to much of allready...   :sosad:

Well. money in head SOMETIMES    :)
(I have very small need of money, even when I earned as most at my distribution business, before I ggot boored of it and soid it, my normal monthly spending were onöy Swedish "existence minimum" except the months I bought e g billiard or such, which cost toi buy but (almost) noting to use, so when spreading the buy costs between all months having them , my average monts spendings are small anyway.  (Some higher after I got injuried so I have to pay people for assistance.)

So for me is enough money just enough for the basics plus a LITLE more monthly, plus have some saved to have possibility to grab opportunities.
As long as I have enough for the basics, I see money resultss of businesses(projects and investments jut as a messure of if somethin have succeeded or not. I mean when its "money projects".  When I did lead sport clubs I messured in sport results AND making people happy.  Help-to-self-help projects are PARTLY about money but also about develop peoples minds.

Well.  Having few wants, make saving much easier  :)
But I understand what you mean   :top:

Scamming goes on everywhere and not just here and Thailand. I am sure it happens in the USA as well.
