Someone hacked into my FB account and changed my birthday to September 1, 1939, the day Germany invaded Poland to start the second world war in Europe.  I'm a boomer.  Started getting all these birthday greetings, so I shut it down in September, 2018, don't miss it.

But we all know that these things do not just happen. Having spent a few decades working in DC I know that you have to be a fool to think they do.

And the problem these days is sorting out what is true.

The guilty fill the spectrum with disinformation so they can say that the truth about them is just more fake news.

Too many of the fake news stories about this issue came out too quick and were too detailed and too polished and too many to be just random pranksters. There is something more going on. Someone is muddying the water.

And the other stories that are out there go far beyond that one. They are professionally done and took a lot of someones a lot of time, effort and money to produce and then make viral.

Cash, dear chap, cash (and politics). The US government is running around trying to get people to buy US, but China's massive price advantage leaves hem dead in their tracks. Toss in a few stories, then get a politician to sound like he knows what he's talking about when he says the virus will help American jobs, and you have a very good reason to produce fake news.

But they had mostly gone to Syria by the time the US got there in 2003.
