Filipina Tennis Sensation
Interesting thoughts Aidan and many valid but vices don't stop with the above mentioned, fast cars, fast women, gambling, chocolate, overeating, loving your partner or pets etc. An open mind wins the day as all have choices but as we know you don't shove your choice down another's throat.
100% agreed.
Are political or religious views a vice? Radicals perhaps yes but live and let live has always been my belief.
As always OMO.
Cheers, Steve. - @bigpearl
A "vice", as intended in my post, would be anything a person does to their own detriment.
@bigpearl
Nobody cares if grown adults want to be women but:
1. I will not call that "normal, sorry, and
2. Don't mutilate or chemically castrate kids.
Leftists make it seem like we are biased against adults doing whatever they do in they privacy of their own homes and to their own bodies.
Nope, it's all about defending a reality at least 10000 years old and keeping the kids normal.
Let them shoot at that strawman; I won't waste my time.
Aidan, points taken but the word vice relates to many things aside from 2 jaws holding something.
Does a philatelist have a vice if a hobby? One can take most things to extremes/obsession to label them as having a vice, my kids had a vice with gaming, simply for them a phase they overcame, I had a very expensive vice with collecting Australian indigenous art, it was an expensive hobby/vice and when I moved to the Philippines kept 5/6 paintings and the rest went to a prestigious auction house and made me a lot of money.
All the crap aside perhaps we should focus on the OP as vices or addictions have nothing to do with gender reassignment and I'm sure plenty of teams consider that person as part of the team as they all have vaginas, simply want to be a woman. Not difficult to accept.
Live and let live and stop putting labels/restrictions on a person that doesn't fit your beliefs, bias or no.
Cheers, Steve.
Dan, all I can say is simply if your son came to you and professed his want to be a female time and again?
Where are you now? Not easy to deal with but nor is life, deal with it we do.
Consider what your son is dealing with in his world, accolades for him even discussing this with you and kids like adults deserve respect. It's a big call from your child and no different to so many things we all experience through our limited existence here.
Gender reassignment is a monumental choice and should be met with acceptance and tolerance, you want him to live under the stairs locked up? Then you create problems.
Live and let live as long as no one tries to shove their beliefs down your throat.
OMO.
Cheers,Steve.
bigpearl said . . . . To Bob (Enzyme Bob) as far as your links and submissions though we have had our spats you have to remember that given you were banned, I'm sure you will be on the radar,,,,,,,

In the period of being banned I gave some thought about the usefulness of this forum for me. I've been on it since August 2018. I went through the usual problems of opening bank accounts, acr-1, 13a, transferring money, drivers license, prescriptions.
As you know most of the informed (politics) old timers had sense enough to leave, leaving a few us. If I was to be banned forever it would be no loss for me, as my past newcomer expat problems were overcome. I am not addicted to this forum.
It seems when there is a difference of opinion it seems it's convenient for some unknown party, to alter, remove or to put the "post under review".
So who are you unknown people, do you have the courage to step forward and say who you are?
This post will probably become under review again, removed and I will be banned again. But some of you will read it before it happens.

Exactly . . . .
Throughout my long life there has always been a new morality as the years pass. Most accept it without realizing it. We find ourselves doing things which we were opposed to years before.
Some people will reject the new morality because of religious beliefs.
For me whatever floats your boat it is fine with me, only one exception, don't park your boat on my reserved pier space.
Fred,,,,,,, weak-mindedness? Can that not attributed to a mental issue?
I smoke like a burning tyre and drink like a fish and sure it might take 10 years off my life but the thing is like most vices/addictions? You enjoy. Any different to drugs or overeating? Fast women? We are. not all clean living Clive.
CHOICE.
Cheers, Steve. - @bigpearl
Not at all. I am weak when to comes to food and coffee, but these are not mental illnesses, just greed.

Certainly not a mental illness, but depending upon the degree of such weaknesses they might well qualify as vices.
Greed like vices have their applications and the main thing with everything in life is to be happy and live in contentment with your choices.
Don't put other souls in boxes with their choices. We all make our way in this short life to suit our needs, thank the Gods we are all individuals.
Cheers, Steve.

In extreme degrees, it may be possible they are an illness.
Run of the mill round people such as my good stomach are just greedy.
My fried rice plate is empty, but I really fancy a chocolate bar and a coffee.
LOL Fred, at our age we deserve to do what we want and as often as possible, have 2 chocolate bars and a coffee and I will join you with a JD on ice.
Cheers, Steve.
Sounds fair.
I am old, fat, ugly and ... even worse ... uncool.
My old debaucherous life full of biker chick's and beer is reduced to chocolate and coffee.
Death will be a relief.
Our ives and the ways we live them is a choice Fred.
If you move on who are we going to have to argue with? I'm sure you have a few more years to read your contributions but I would suggest you visit the Philippines to savour why many of us live here. Hope the chockies are as enjoyable as my JD.
Cheers, Steve.
Memento mori.
Very important we don't lose sight of that. We all have our date, we are walking towards it. In the meantime, it's important we make the most of what we have.
Vices and prejudices aside, I'll drink to that Aidan.
Cheers, Steve.
@bigpearl
I often wonder if you (Fred) have as much fun on the Indonesian expat sites.
It's slightly more enthralling than watching paint dry. Occasionally our British expat friend Wyngrove pops up to echo Freds hallowed opinions. Bless.

Hallowed be Fred's name 😎
Good god, blasphemy so late in the day. I usually manage before 6.30 am.
Perhaps you never had pets Fred? Treated here as family members and loved the same. Seems your mind sinks into the gutter at times, perhaps too much chocolate and coffee?
BTW my kids are are in their 30's, very well balanced, successful and while the dogs don't play tennis they certainly know how to take me on a walk and after a swim in the ocean out front want to stay in the waves and play,,,, can be frustrating most times. Kids and humour them we do.

Greasy biker upbringing. The gutter was a step up for me.
Then let it go Fred, go back to the gutter, enjoy and leave the Philippines Expat site off your radar, go play in Indonesia or are you booted there? Other sites?
You honestly have nothing to offer this site and only get involved if you can see an in for your diatribe, never a personal contribution here to add value and relevance to life in the Philippines and this site.
Perhaps more coffee and chocolate bars in your gutter?
You know Fred while I wasn't raised in the gutter I learnt very quickly if you don't have anything nice to say or contribute then it's better to say nothing instead of stirring the hornets nest, one of your honed traits.
Have something valuable to add to this forum though difficult as you have never tasted the flavours offered here.
OMO.

How very harsh.
Let this site go Fred, perhaps harsh and negative but while I start threads/topics and contribute to others on this site? From you? Nada. Not easy if you have never been here and tasted the flavours/culture and individuals as most of us here do. Simply your opinion from another world when and if you can get your foot in the door, don't get me wrong as there is merit in some things you post on this site but honestly? We have plenty here that contribute the same opinions.
I am not interested to stick my nose into some other countries forum as my life is here in the Philippines. This site.
As always Fred, OMO.
Cheers, Steve.
