Suggestion finding a place to retire

hello all I was just in Bocolod in April and found out that it wasn't where I wanted to retire , Iloilo looked very promising ! I am a Country boy so I would like to settle outside of a City ! I was stationed at Clark in the early 80 s and my son was born there so I'm familiar with Luzon but not the lower Island's! I would love near the water if possible ,,, any good suggestions ?

Wow you go back a long way in the Philippines and with being here I'm sure you will find the perfect place to retire to. Country lad here also and we ended up in La Union north of San Juan,,,, better half's family are in San Fernando City about 40 minutes away so easy for a visit but not too close.

For me only ever spent time on Boracay and Palawan and lots of areas around Luzon and never to southern Visayas so can't comment, as said family are up north so this is where we settled. We are beachfront and a very quiet area and services not too far away, we enjoy.
