I agree: we marry her family as well as the fiancee, which can be nice (and profitable sometimes) or not at all if they see you only as a wallet. But, as a long time traveller, I can say that this is not an asian specificity at all.

In our european cultures, marrying by love is not old! In traditional regions of Asia (and very far from the cliche « asian girls are easy to catch with little money » which may represent 1% of them) it’s still the rule. In cities, that’s past, and girls of 18+ often have a bf, but it’s more flirt than sex.

Sex in Asia is another topic, to long for here, but briefly, most of time, average non-seductor in his country foreigner will meet a large majority of nice girls with good spirit, if he does not meet her in a bar in sexy clothes or in an app.

Just be yourself, don’t run after a gf quickly, enjoy the daily life, meet local people, make friends, learn the language, then soon or late you will meet your pearl, don’t worry!

PS: anyway, whatever happen, she will cost you less than your ex-wife.
