Quality of customer service in Morocco

Cheryl

Hello everyone,

Customer service can say a lot about everyday life in Morocco, and for many expats, it’s something that could take time to get used to. In order to help expats and soon-to-be expats to adjust to local expectations, we invite you to share your insights.

How would you describe customer service in Morocco?

Are staff generally friendly and helpful, or more formal and direct?

How do businesses handle complaints or requests for refunds?

Do expats get treated differently than locals?

Any tips on how to get the best service in Morocco?

Share your experiences and stories, whether positive, challenging or funny!

Thank you for your contribution.

Customer service in Morocco? Think five-star hospitality energy with a PhD in “Inshallah timing.” Warm smiles, genuine effor & a flexible relationship with urgency. Staff are usually super friendly & sometimes so friendly you forget what you originally came for. Formal when needed, but mostly human, which is refreshing.

Complaints :  Handled with charm, tea, and negotiations that could qualify for diplomacy training. Refunds (hmmm) let’s just say they’re more of a concept than a policy.

Best tip: be polite, be patient, throw in a bit of French or Arabic, and master the art of gentle persistence.
