Hello, we are relocating to Mauritius at end of this year .
We are currently in South Africa, we are irish, British and Colombian and have 2 kids . 5 and 2,
Husband office will be in Grand bay.

So we need to get an idea of what sort of accomodation we can find there and for what price and where is the best place to look. Ideally something similar to SA . Probably smaller , 4 bedrooms house, a bit of garden and find a helper
Also any advice in school for our kids.

Any other advice,? What to bring from here? Is clothes more expensive there?

Is there an expat facebook group  where I can search such things too?

Thanks

Lina

Hello Lina,

Welcome to the forum ^^

You will find all the information you are looking for on the website itself, feel free to use the search bar at the upper right side of the page.

Just to give you an idea of what kind of accommodation you might find in Grand Bay, have a look at lexpress property website : https://www.lexpressproperty.com/en/ren … e&l=15

In any case, it would be better and advisable to sign up for a temporary accommodation at first and start your actual search and visits for a long term rental once you are in Mauritius.

For newcomers, you might want to check this thread out : Advice For Our Move To Mauritius

Most expats live in the North (Grand Bay, Pereybere, Trou aux Biches etc). 2 years old would be nursery I think, you will find lots of them in the North and as far as schools are concerned, there are quite a lot of threads under the Schools & studies in Mauritius section.

Regards,
Anoushka
