Self Sponsorship Visa/Residence Permit

Post new topic

Alienn

Applied online for self sponsorship visa/residence permit in November 2020. Fulfilled all criteria, provided required documents. Received acknowledgement from NPRA. Whenever I enquire online or on 17399712 the reply is "Under Processing, Wait"
My Problem:
I don't mind waiting but I will be retiring within days and my employer wants to cancel the work visa (some are really mean! :)). After cancellation, I understand I have 30 days to leave.
My Question:
What is the procedure to extend the grace period of 30 days if my self sponsorship visa does not come through within the 30 days.
Any advice will be thankfully received. Thank you all.
Note:I am new to this, I hope I have posted in right thread, if not apologies to Admin with a request to kindly take the query to the right place.

Leave 30 days after cancellation. Or go to lmra to extend grace period which they can do up to a maximum of 90 days.

The self sponsorship visa, before covid, would easily take anywhere from 3-5 months. I would imagine that it's taking longer now.

Alienn

Thanks XTang for your quick reply. Appreciate it. Do I have to fill up any form and take it to LMRA? Also which section in LMRA? Do they give 90 days in one go?
Many thanks in advance for your helpful reply. :)

XTang

It's the extension of grace period form.  And they usually only do 30 days at a time.

Alienn

Great! Will enquire from LMRA.
Many thanks again XTang for your wonderfully fast response.

Alienn

Can I submit the form to LMRA for 30 days extension or do I have go through my ex employer? If the answer is ex employer what if the exemployer does not cooperate? Thanks a lot for your time and answer.

Try yourself first.

Received a one line email from Self.sponsorship@npra.gov.bh saying the self sponsor Visa is approved and asking me to send passport.

The email has no sender name or telephone number. It  does not also say where and to whom the passport should be sent! No address and no name.

Also not clear how the payment is to be made.

Mr. XTang, any comments/advice based on your experience? Many thanks.

Before covid, you went to npra, the self sponsorship section and paid there and then.  I guess now you will have to take appointment on skiplino for any npra office that is open eg muharraq.
