Do I have to show my funds at the airport/Immigration office when someone is inviting you on a tourist visa in his country stating that all the expenses during stay will be born by the invitee ??
I wish to invite my wife to visit Mauritius based on my occupation permit.

Send a signed accommodation letter to your wife stating you are bearing all the expenses during her stay. She will need it when checking in in Mauritius.
However having some cash and/or credit/debit/prepaid card with her is recommended in case the border agent asks for some kind of proof.
