Help with visa

I run a marketing freelance business in England with all english clients currently  i have been staying here on a visiting visa.  I think i could do good work here too and potentially create jobs here.

I love ot here and want to spend 2019 here in KL.  Can i get a visa here if i am self employed.

What are the guidelines and implications?
What are the costs?
How much tax would i pay?

Thanks in advance

Dean

The only option is https://www.mtep.my/  unless you get a job offer (employer applies for work permit)

Hi Gravitas,

Thank you ever so much for your reply.  It is much appreciated!

I don't quite have 50k in the bank but that is achievable.

I thought there would be lots of options to bring jobs to the country.

You could also open a company, but paid up capital is required

For Labuan offshore company - Paid up capital of RM 250,000 is required to get a work permit and only 30% of business can be done in Malaysia and is taxed on local rates. There are overhead costs involved, such as company secretary fees, office space, telephone line, etc.
