Traffic in Romania

Hello everyone,

Which city or area do you live in in Romania, and how do you find the traffic?

How long does it take to commute to work or run errands?

Is there a rush hour in your city? What times of the day would you recommend people to avoid driving if they can?

Are there any ways to avoid spending too much time in traffic in Romania?

What is parking availability and cost like?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I live in Bucharest. The traffic here is terrible at peak hours, it often takes me 40 minutes to drive to work in what is normally just a 5 minute drive. So I don't drive to work very often and just use the tram, that though is about a 30 minute journey.

If you have ever tried to cross London or Tokyo by car you will realize that Bucharest is a breeze :)

We don't have a rush hour around this area because it wouldn't do you any good rushing! The main problem that I have is navigating potholes & unmade road surfaces. Massive concrete drainage ditches at the edge of the tarmac roads here that are invisible in the dark as are little old ladies wearing black accompanied by cows sauntering down the middle. Most of my delays are caused by flocks of sheep, herds of cows, horses & carts & very long funeral processions. A relaxed attitude to driving is best in the countryside :)
