I'm currently a freelancer with all my clients in the U.S. and planning to apply to the Residence Permit for Other Purposes. Does anybody have any experience with the process? How long do they issue this permit for? I'm Non-EU by the way. Thanks

I doubt the residence permit for "other purposes" is relevant. Here are the requirements:

Just because you have clients in the U.S. is irrelevant. You would still be working in Hungary. It is an issue of "nexus", and you will still probably need to get a visa that includes a business forming activity or work permit.
