Moving Germany to Spain

Post new topic

Hi Guys,

Can anybody offer me some advise or information? My boyfriend and I are moving from Berlin to Barcelona this autumn and we are trying to find the best way to move our stuff there, whether it is hiring a car and driving everything, or multiple trips by plane or bus, or the old fashioned way of using a removal service.

If you have any advise to tips for me please let me know, also any other general information about deregistering in Germany or registering in Spain is dearly appreciated because even though I am reading the official information it is good to have some personal experience info as well.

Thank you all so much in advanced.

How you move your things besically depends on how much it is and how much time or money you are willing to spend. It is often cheaper to leave most furniture behind and buy second hand items at the destination.

You must de-register at your local "Bürgerbüro" within a week before leaving. It's a quick, easy and free-of-charge process.
