New overstay fee?

There's a rumor going around (rumor, because I can't verify the information) that the overstay fee will increase from about 8 reais a day to 100 reais a day, effective September 1. Looking for credible verification and more information, please.

Lawyer in Rio wrote me this that handles the immigration stuff.
I almost cant believe it...

Yes, it seems its true. Ive just been charged today at Policia Federal 100 reals for each overstayed day.
