2 things really important currently, knowing more about receiving  healthcare as a us citizen in mexico .and  finding,long term lodging in merida mx. arriving july 4th.. Thanking You for any helpful hints, and any and all knowledge .

Although we've never lived in Merida, we have visited a couple of times and love the city.  I found a real estate site that has some long-term rentals listed:  tierrayucatan.com.   Hope this helps!

By healthcare I assume you are looking for a universal healthcare. Mexico has IMSS, which is their social security system that you can buy into

And Seguro popular , sort of a medicaid like system to make sure everyone has coverage. There are also many private insurances. Which would be best for you to look into would depend on your circumstances.
