Tax for Foreign Worker

Post new topic

ExpatPH

Hello,

What percent is the Tax here in Romania for a foreign worker like me?
My employer is also a foreigner (Belgian) but married to a Romanian girl and will be here for good.

I know my employer will have to deal with the taxation works but just want to know how much is deducted to my first salary and the end of this month. :)

Thank you!

Your employer should have explained this to you at the start of the work contract.

I searched this site but can no longer find this calculator.  Romaniac by chance do you know anything about if I continue to work for a United States company while I live in Romania which would be the better place to be taxed?  I know a treaty exists between the two to prevent double taxation and I imagine I can choose to be a LLC in the States or SRL in Romania to determine where I pay taxes.  I will be a contractor in the states for a US based business.

You will be taxed by the USA no matter where you work and who you work for and where the money is held or paid out. This is American law as long as you carry an American passport, you have no choice. The only question is how much Romanian tax you must pay and what part, if any, is deductible on your US tax liability.

For the taxation issue, Johnny's reply is right on the button.  You cannot pick and choose where you'll pay taxes, the IRS will get their share!

As for the calculator, I found a new one.: https://www.calculatorvenituri.ro/#calculavansat
