Medical certificate

Hi, everybody!

I'm confused with one point in the list of papers required for a resident permit – a medical certificate.

I'm not finding any discussions of that but when I asked in couple of medical places in Bucharest, they said they don't know anything. Currently I'm out of the country and I couldn't get any answers from ReginaMaria, Medlife and similar via email.

So, where should that be done? What is the procedure and how long does it take? Do I need anything from my home country? Or maybe it could be all done in home country and then legalised&translated?

Thanks in advance!

Hi when I applied for my residency, I got from omnisiac, just opposite road of the immigration office. The immigration did not accept my existing axa insurance as they said it needs to be issued from Romania.

So, me and my husband went to that omnisac insurance and they issued just in 30minutes and we went back to the immigration office and filed.

Now I got my permit. Hope this helps!

Thank you very much, Carole! But the question is not about insurance. They say I need a medical certificate saying I don't have any diseases threatening public health. Did you pass any medical tests and gave them resulting papers? Thank you!

Its just some stupid little form that a doctor signs that says you are healthy with no disease. Not a big deal except the doctor must use the EXACT required words. Imigrare will give you the requirements when you first register.
By the way, if it is possible to bring your COMPLETE medical file with you to show your new family physician, do so. My doctor was very impressed because they don't really. have such complete histories here.

Thank you very much for your reply! Could I ask you to send me a photo or just wording of that paper? For sure, with you personal details covered. I'm trying to put together all the stuff in advance to be able to apply as soon as I arrive, because my employer plans to send me out of the city ASAP due to work tasks.

It's just a little 3.5"x5" form called "Adeverinta Medicala."
But your employer should be if significant help in walking you through it. They should at least send someone to help with the language divide.

No tests for me. My doctor looked me up and down and said OK and signed the form. The list of requirements that Imigrare gives you when you first register will contain the exact wording they require.
I'd ask the employer for a recommendation for a doctot.

Thank you, Johnny, for your help! :-) My employer is a very small company, and for them this is the first experience of hiring a foreigner. So there are lots of issues we have to research together.
They said they will escort me to some place where they usually get driving license and all other sorts of medical certificates, but I decided to find out more. I also don't feel like going to IGI many times, and trying to prepare all they list for upload, in advance.
Thank you so much!

I stressed about it, too, but stressing about saving time and cutting waits in Romania is a losing game. Prepare in advance, but take a chill-pill once every four hours and accept the coming confusion and delay. But in the end it will be OK.

@Carole_dxb- Hi Carole, I am also looking for a medical certificate for the same purpose. Can you please tell me fees they have taken for the same and address to visit them .

Any primary care doctor (family doctor) can issue it.  Costs around 50 RON

@Anupama Bhatnagar Did you manage to get the medical certificate? I am also looking for the same but no luck.

What is it for? Drivers license is different from Permis Ședere.

@JohnnyStLouis

Hi Mr.Johnny thanks for your reply. No I got a job offer from the Greece. So they need my health certificate. That's why I need to get that. Thanks

I would simply ask them EXACTLY what form they needed to be completed.

For the Permis de Ședere (resident permit) you need an Adeverință Medicala, which is a small bit of paper from the Românian doctor stating that you are healthy and not going to get sick soon. Any doctor can issue that, after an exam. Maybe you need something different.

The employer should be able to tell you exactly what you need. Maybe they need something from the Greek side. Ask them for specifics. Maybe get a copy of someone else's with details blacked out.
