Query regarding oman driving license

Hello there
I am a guy from India and just started working here in oman as an electrical engineer . I have a query in my mind and thought to post it here . All suggestions are deeply appreciated . I was having issues with my eye sight and post my eye check up it was concluded that my left eye has poor vision . They call it lazy eye in medical term. My right eye has no problem and its perfect . My doc told me that it has no cure as the left eye is weak since birth but they can maintain its stability to prevent extra weakness. I am thinking to apply for oman driving license but m baffled that would my eye problem be an issue to acquire driving licence here in oman ?
What measures shall I opt to avoid any hassles ?
I really need to get driving licence . My eyes were also treated for other diseases but my tests came out to be normal except my left eye has a poor vision since birth .
Plz guide me ..
I have no problem with reading and writing with spects .

Hi Shahsiddiq9,

While applying for your learner's licence (blue) book, there would be a simple eye test to evaluate your vision.

As long as you can see with both the eyes, you should not have any issues.

Those wearing spectacles can also take their learner's licence book.

yes , you can go ahead to apply for your blue book as you will have a vision test as during the time of visa medical you have gone through the same way. later on as normal as with others.

Hi Vmp,

Only the registered residents of Oman are eligible to apply for a local driving licence. So a valid residency visa and a valid resident card would be essential documents to be produced as evidence.

However, those on short visits can drive rented cars with their valid Internation Driving Permit.

Hi! Is it possible to get a driving license in Oman if you have perfect vision in one eye and poor vision in the other eye ( not correctable with glasses) ?
