Welcome Vedrana,
Have you looked in the JOBS section of the site? You might find a lead there, or you can post an ad in case someone is looking for you
Good luck!

hey, thank you for your answer...maybe this will be a funny question but since i'm new here, can you tell me ho to post an ad and where?
I am new here myself. Seems like a great site. Ideally I would like to find ANY job in Sverige before I move there in the Spring. Why do you want to move there? Stockholm/Svear är my favorite Euro city. I like the kultur och language also.

It's easy, just go into the JOBS area which can be found anywhere on the site by clicking the link in the menu at the top of the screen, then choose the green "Create your C/V" button, then continue to follow the guided process.

i want to move there because i'm 24 and i can't find job in croatia..any job..if i have that much luck,my paycheck would be around 400 euros and flat is around 250-300 euros. I just want a normal life not thinking if i can pay the rent this mounth or if I'm gonna have money for food by the next paycheck.
Sweden already has a multitude of English speakers and have their pick of the litter when it comes to people who can speak English. Speaking Swedish is more important. Sweden is one of the hardest countries to get a job in. So many people with higher education end up becoming taxi drivers or working in a pizzeria. I wish you luck though!
Honestly, if you can't find job in your home town where you are a first grade citizen, it woyld be very hard to find job in another country. Plus, other legalities, especially the work permit.. I've known more than a few people in Istambul at least who were ripped off within two months of finding jobs in similar desperate situations. I doubt things would be different in other places.
But eventually, it all comes down to one's own self to put it down very bluntly. You're as good in another country as you are in your own.
Hope this gives you a good picture.

the thing is...when i come from EU country, first i have to find a job with a contract and then i can get swedish pn number..with that number i can apply for sfi course . I know that is going to be very hard but i have nothing to loose. Thank you guys for your honest answers
One more thing..one hostel answered me for job application as a receptionst and they are offering full time job that is paid 100 SEK per hour including taxes in stockholm. what do you think about that and how much are the taxes?
Taxes are 25%
That's nice that the hostel answered you back!
It good that you heard back from a hostel and they are giving you a good offer. Jennaiwanchuk has already explained the taxes for you. Just make sure that before you move, you have all the legal documentation covered. Ask them if they are going to provide you residence/work permit. Also, ask for a written legal contract before you move to another country.
I know these things are basic. But just make sure that you have everything covered.
Hope everything works out well for you
Good luck

Croatia and Sweden are both EU countries Z, no work/residence permit is required for EU citizens, though you must register with the police within 90 days I believe.

VAT is 25% which is different than taxation on income.
To get better acquainted with applicable taxes, this link might be useful as a start for the OP.

For what that hostel is offering, and the cost of living in Stockholm, that might be hard to live on.
Considering everything i've seen and heard i cannot find job on english there..i tried everything..sending e-mails (over 100 mails sent),contacting people on couchsurfing (no one is able to help me).
i think i'm going to stop trying
Glad that you mentioned it Romaniac, I did overlook that fact. Also, watching many people in Turkey going through the experience I mentioned makes me raise guards every time.

I'm sorry we couldn't be more encouraging Vedrana, but it's a very competitive world these days. If you really want to make the move, all I can recommend is to continuously improve your job and language skills. If you really want to get to Sweden, maybe take some courses to bring up your fluency in Swedish, find out what skills are in demand there and target them, and keep your eyes open for opportunities. New doors can open anytime.
Just remember that often in the process of becoming an expat, it's a marathon, not a race. I've found persistence to be a key at succeeding, as many things won't come so easily or overnight

Every Swede will tell you that there is no problem to find a job with English only, but start learn Swedish asap... It is not so easy to get good job (not as a cleaning lady) and Sweden is not a work paradise. It is nice country to leave and it takes care of its citizens, but it is not paradise where everyone can get job within few days. If you move in prepare yourself for long weeks or months of searching a job and learning Swedish. I moved in here as I got job proposal (specific industry specialist) but my husband who is IT engineer with more than 10years experience couldn't find job with English for 5 months...Finally he moved out to London and got job within one week... Swedes are open for immigrants, but as each country protects their own citizens more and their language, which I fully understand and justify.
I am from Poland, so I can imagine that life level in Croatia can be similar like in Poland. You have better weather at least Probably for both of us Swedish salaries are extremely high and tempting. Government who supports citizens instead of making their life harder…it is something that we both are missing… But Sweden is not paradise, and beginnings can be here really hard.
FYI, typical rate for small apartment close to Stockholm will be 8 000-10 000 sek per month, in Stockholm even more. Keep it in mind...
Tack så mycket for the honest advice. That is what I was looking for here. Best of luck to you with 2016
the thing is..i have finished only high school (receptionist, tour guide, traveling agency) and concidering situation in Croatia my familiy didn't have money for me to finish college. I know english so I'm looking for a job as a cleaner or something like that so when i sign contract,I can have SFI for free. I hope when I learn Swedish that I can find job as a receptionist. I don't ask much, just a normal life. When people tell me that is hard to live in Sweden, try to live and work in Croatia (really,I can't find a job almost 2 years). In my last season job at Adriatic coast I was saving my money to come to Sweden. So,what is for us "big money",for Sweden that is half salary
I do not want to discourage you. In opposite I can understand you totally. We have so bad salaries in Poland that sometimes people from Sweden cannot believe me.
Although try to start learning Swedish at home. So when get here you will have some basics knowledge. Swedish is difficult and will take time to learn it to achieve communicative level. Without Swedish you will not find work which requires contact with customer&other Swedish people. Even if all of them speak English
Choose big cities, easier to find a work. Even if more money needed to survive. And be prepared that even Stockholm which is claimed to be big Swedish city is small when you compare to average European capital. So, job market is not big neither. And really it is not job paradise. Jobs are not laying on the streets here. Go to unemployment office as soon as you have your personal number. Prepare documents you will need to obtain personal number before you move here. Contact Skatteverket from Croatia and ask what you will need. Find apartment first or somebody to stay with, before you move. Apartment market is not easiest one neither in Stockholm area.
When you are part of the system in Sweden, you have job, place to live etc than it is great. Then you are supported by many institutions, health care for me is great here. But when you are unemployed immigrant with no monthly profit, no family, no friends…it is tought…
Good luck! Contact me on priv if you have any questions…
I am here for next two month and after that I will run away from Sweden… far far from Sweden
If I were you I would consider other cities like malmö or Göteborg. I have been living and working in all 3 cities and even if Stockholm is a beautiful city it has a difficult and oversaturated job market(expetially for non Swedish speakers) and higher living costs. If I were you I would really consider malmö. It has a big Croatian and balcan community, which might makes it easier to get to know people and maybe to take advantage of your native language to find a job. Often they need people that speak as well Croatian. And you have Copenhagen very close that would allow you to look for a job in dk as well. Living in Sweden and working in dk has some advantages since salaries in dk are higher but taxes in swe are lower. I live now in Göteborg, and I am sure could be an option as well but probably malmö would be a better pick to start, and then when you have a personnummer you can always change.
Hi! Reemow,
Thank you so much for your reply. I am living in Gothenburg. I have sent my CV to Hotels in Gothenburg online even as housekeeping positions however there is no reply from them, many be because I cannot speak Swedish yet.
Hei Vangi,
Keep on trying. Check website like se.indeed.com or jobbsafari. And search for job in English, or even in your language. Try always to show the advantage that you speak other languages. Or use as advantages that you are from **** country, studied or have experience in *** etc. Make them understand that you can make a difference even without speaking yet Swedish. with these suggestions I managed to help some friends to find a job. I am not telling you it's easy but it is not impossible. Be a bit patient.
And I could add from my experience that recruiting process is just longer in Sweden than in other countries. You can apply for a job in January but get that job after couple of months. So never loose your hope. They can reply on your CV after so long time, that you even forgot that you did apply for that job So, you never know.
Call them, check what is the status of recruiting process, just remind them about you... and if you ever hear that you are "over qualified", read it as... "we don't have budget to hire you and we are afraid that if we hire you but pay less, you will quit job quickly"
Good luck!
I am looking for a job in gothenburg. We have a few Croatian friends there but no one can find me a job actually..
