Where is the art scene in Paris? I NEED young people to create with.

Hey,

New to Paris, living in the suburbs just outside. My french is terrible but I will be taking lessons soon. I want to know where the art scene is, good cheap places to get supplies, or other meet other creative people who would like to explore and draw/paint/take photos with me.
I am working as an Au-Pair, usually busy with that during the week but have Saturdays and Sundays off.

I also like theatre, literature, music and drinking.

The private contemporary galleries clustered mostly in the Marais. I would recommend going to their private views to meet other people interested in art. To find out about when the next private views take place you could follow gogoparis on twitter if you have a twitter account. Otherwise check out their website gogoparis.com - they usually list new shows, so that should help. There is also a flourishing art scene in Belleville - I think gogoparis wrote a post about this recently, too.
